Determining the Paleostress Regime during the Mineralization Period in the Dayingezhuang Orogenic Gold Deposit, Jiaodong Peninsula, Eastern China: Insights from 3D Numerical Modeling

The Dayingezhuang orogenic gold deposit, located in the northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula, is hosted by Zhaoping detachment fault, but paleostress regime during mineralization period remains poorly understood. In this study, a series of numerical modeling experiments with variable stress conditions were carried out using FLAC3D software to determine orientation and fluid migration processes ore-forming period. results show that simple compression or tension model led downward upward flow along respectively, accompanying expansion deformation near hanging wall footwall which inconsistent known NE oblique distribution at Dayingezhuang. reverse strike-slip shows shear was distributed gentle dip sites space occurred geometric depression also distribution. normal where fault geometry transforms from steep gentle. addition, zones appeared angles 35~60° extended NE-trending shallow deep levels. are quite consistent mineralization, suggesting movement stage combination local NW–SE extension deposit. Under (σ1 NE–SW, σ2 vertical, σ3 NW–SE), dilation associated served as channels for migration. Based on results, deeper levels No. 2 orebody deposit have good prospecting potential. Thus, our study not only highlights essentially controlled certain directions demonstrates robust tool identifying potential mineralization.
